The charge of the group is to reflect on the purpose and sound practices related to homework with the goal of drafting Board policy and making recommendations for related administrative regulations. These documents are intended to provide guidance to the sites as they pursue their work in this area. 

The work of the Committee will be anchored in a thorough review of the literature and through stakeholder (parent, student, staff) input collected through community discussions and survey data. Input can also be emailed to homework@pausd.org

This group reports to the Superintendent.

Homework Survey :
If you haven't participated in the community-wide conversations at your school site (e.g. PTA, Site Council, etc.), and would like to give us your input please login to the Infinite Campus portal and complete the Homework Survey. 

Committee Composition:Elementary:  3 parents, 1 administrator, 4 teachers
Middle School:  3 parents, 1 administrator, 3 teachers
High School:  3 parents, 2 administrators, 4 teachers, 2 students
District:  Associate Superintendent – Educational Services Coordinator – Research and Evaluation

Timeline:

November – December:  Committee formation, organization, planning and implementation, establishing of email address homework@pausd.org and website page
 
January – February:  data collection, review of the literature
                       
March – April:  processing the data collection and comparing it to the literature, examining current practices, examining policies and administrative regulations from like districts, drafting Board Policy and Administrative Regulations  language

May – June:  revising draft language – presentation to the Board for Discussion and possible Action

Future Meetings

All meetings will be held at 25 Churchill Avenue in the Board Room, 3:30-5:30 pm.  Members of the public are welcome to attend.
