QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
- Training and experience equivalent to graduation from college with a BA degree in accounting, finance, business management, or a closely related field, CPA, MA/MS/MBA desirable
- Five years of increasingly responsible professional accounting or school business management experience
- At least three years of accounting supervisory experience and organization level budget development responsibility
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under direction of the Chief Business Officer (CBO), plan, direct, and implement budgetary, accounting, purchasing, and other fiscal functions. Perform other related duties as required.
Specific Duties Include:
- Develop and manage District budget including all income and expenditure accounts, funds, and account groups
- Supervise the recording and maintenance of all financial transactions
- Plan, organize, and supervise preparation of financial and statistical reports
- Present financial reports/data to school board, district administrators, and other agencies
- Prepare, file, and manage mandated cost claims and other financial claims and reimbursementsCoordinate annual financial and other audits
- Maintain relationships with outside agencies and organizations relating to budget, accounting, and other fiscal matters
- Plan, organize, recommend, and implement budgetary, accounting, purchasing, and other fiscal procedures
- Perform internal audits
- Prepare data for financial projections, research studies, and negotiations
- Assist budget managers in developing and managing budgets
- Supervise and train staff
- Assist CBO with other tasks as assigned
Essential skills include the ability to:
- Plan, organize, and supervise maintenance of financial and statistical reports
- Coordinate financial and other audits
- Implement all phases of budgetary, accounting, and fiscal procedures
- Effectively manage staff and non-personnel resources
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
- Advise colleagues in matters of fiscal management

- Establish and maintain effective working relationship with others
- Meet physical and/or mental requirements associated with tasks outlined in this position description
- Assemble, analyze, and utilize data to economically further the educational pursuits of the District.
