Commitment to Nondiscrimination Public Notice
"The Board of Education of Palo Alto Unified School District shall provide equal opportunities in all areas and assure that there will be no discrimination against any person on the grounds of race, religion, age, sex, national origin, color, disability, political belief, sexual orientation, marital status, or veteran's status."
Title IX
Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) offers the protections of Title IX of the Civil Rights Act that "no person… shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal assistance" [20 U.S.C. § 1681(a)]
The Title IX Coordinator provides information about nondiscrimination policy and complaint procedures; ensures that appropriate training is provided on a frequent and regular basis; and monitors District actions in response to allegations of sexual harassment.
