Do You Enjoy Working with Children? Are You Looking for Some Extra Money?

The Palo Alto Unified School District's Food Service Department is looking for Substitute Workers for the remainder of the 2008-2009 school year. Food Service positions range in time from 1 to 3 hour in length.

Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) provides meal services for our students. Lunch is offered at all schools. Brunch is available at middle and high schools. Snacks or ala carte items are offered during brunch and lunch at middle schools and high schools for students to supplement their meals.

Families may be eligible for free or reduced priced meals. To apply, you may pick up an application at your school site, or at Student Nutrition Services, at 25 Churchill Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94306.

Palo Alto Unified School District partners with Revolution Foods one day a week for food service! Revolution Foods transforms school food service by providing healthy meals and nutrition education to schools in California. We partner with Whole Foods Market and other natural food providers to include only the freshest ingredients and many natural and organic products in our meals. Every meal is homestyle, kid-friendly, and made with care daily. Our food standards are:

  • Our meats, baked goods and produce meet Whole Foods Market’s quality standards.
  • Our milk and meats are rBST-free, hormone-free and antibiotic-free.
  • Our food is prepared fresh daily; we do not serve fried, processed, or re-heated food.
  • We feature foods that have NO high fructose corn syrup, transfats, artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, sweeteners, and hydrogenated fats.
  • Revolution Foods uses seasonal, organic and locally produced ingredients whenever possible.

Lunch prices are as follows:   Brunch available at all secondary schools

All lunches at the elementary schools are pre-ordered by 9:00 a.m. each school day.

Middle School and High School students can create and account on-line also and will receive a PIN number to use rather than a meal card.All lunches at the elementary schools are pre-ordered by 9:00 am each school day.

Payment Methods

Parents interested in participating in our lunch program could choose one of the following methods of payment for meal purchases:

  1. Cash Payment – This option is for parents who wish to pay for school meals with cash. Students need to bring cash every time he/she purchases lunch.
  2. Account Payment – This option is for parents who wish to pay for school meals without sending cash to school. You can simply send a check, made out to PAUSD Student Nutrition Services, to your child’s school or to Student Nutrition Services at 25 Churchill Avenue, Palo Alto, CA 94306. The amount sent will be deposited into your child’s lunch account. Or you could visit www.lunchdeposit.com, open an account (opening an account is free – you will need your child’s 8 digit student ID number) and deposit money into your child’s account. If you open an account online, you can view your child’s lunch transactions and account balance. (Note: There is a $3 service fee each time funds are deposited on www.lunchdeposit.com)
