World Book Online

An encyclopedia designed for students grades K-9, includes a dictionary and Spanish language encyclopedia, Enciclopedia Estudiantil Hallazgos.

Students can search for articles, or view one of seven special features from the home page. Special features include Today in History, Behind the Headlines, Media Showcase, Subscriber News, Features of the Month, What's New, and What's Happening This Month.

This subscription encyclopedia is for students and staff of all PAUSD schools.

BrainPOP

BrainPOP is an educational web site with Flash-based movies about mathematics, technology, health, science, social studies, arts& music, and English. Most of the videos feature the site's recurring characters, Tim and Moby.
This resource is for the students and staff of all school and now available 24/7 at school sites and off. See Teacher Librarian for login and password.

EBSCO Host
 A general reference database for researchers in grades 1-12 , EBSCO Host includes selected full-text articles and images, reference books,and transcripts from a variety of sources including magazines, encyclopedias, biographies, radio and television, primary source documents, photos, maps, flags, amd more.

EBSCO Host offers students a powerful, advanced tool for targeting the information vital to successful research. Students and staff can

EBSCO Points of View Reference Center - a database for middle school students
line Points of View Reference Center is a full-text database that provides a series of essays that present multiple sides of current issues. Over 225 topics are covered!

  • Get an overview with objective backgrounds and descriptions
