Charge: The Dyslexia Screener Pilot Advisory Committee is responsible for reviewing three proposed screeners from the state-approved list, providing guidance on pilot implementation plans, and making a final recommendation.

Considerations:

Ensure the screener aligns with the California Dyslexia Guidelines and complies with state laws, using only state-approved screening tools.

Review PAUSD’s historical background and student demographics to inform the selection process.

Verify that the screener is age-appropriate and effectively assesses key early literacy milestones, including letter recognition, phonemic awareness, and decoding skills.

Evaluate the practicality of the screener, considering factors such as administration time, scoring efficiency, and ease of interpreting results.
