Special Education District Advisory Committee

The Special Education District Advisory Committee (SEDAC) is a Board subcommittee of the Palo Alto Unified School District composed of parents, educators, administrators, board members, and community stakeholders. SEDAC fosters collaboration to support and enhance the educational experiences of students with disabilities. Serving as a bridge between the district and the broader school community, SEDAC ensures that the voices of families and those directly impacted by special education are meaningfully incorporated into district decisions. Through regular meetings, listening sessions, and program review discussions, the committee plays a critical role in reviewing, informing, and co-constructing recommendations related to special education strategy. SEDAC’s work is grounded in the values of equity, transparency, accountability, and authentic stakeholder engagement
