Student Nutrition Services

The Administrative Review of the PAUSD Student Nutrition Services has been completed. "We passed the CDE Administrative review with flying colors " as SNS has been following each and every guideline as required by CDE and USDA.

An Administrative Review (AR) is a comprehensive evaluation conducted by the California Department of Education (CDE) that is mandated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).  The AR process is designed to ensure that all participating sponsors and agencies comply with the Federal and State program requirements of the Child Nutrition Programs (CNP). These programs include the School Nutrition Programs (both Breakfast and Lunch) and the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP).

The review found no findings and stated that the department is operating in full compliance with Federal and State program requirements. Some of these mandated requirements are, the maximum size of food portions by grade level, the specific food components that must be offered, nutrition specifications and ingredients that must be offered, the amount of food students must take, and the number of meals students are allowed to take.

Student Nutrition Services would like to thank the site-level staff at Palo Verde Elementary, JLS Middle, and Palo Alto High, the Food Service staff, the PAUSD Health & Wellness Committee, and the community for helping us prepare for this audit!
