From the Office of the Superintendent:

SUPERINTENDENT'S UPDATE

BOARD AGENDA

The agenda calendar with topics can be found HERE. The major topic for the upcoming meeting on Tuesday, November 10, is the secondary school reopening plan. The complete agenda item for reopening can be found HERE.

The plan reflects feedback from stakeholders that includes the following:

  • High-quality hybrid and distance learning options for families.
  • Creation of cohorts to address quarantines and contact tracing.
  • Equal contact with teachers between the two models.
  • An opportunity to reassess Monday schedules and activities.

We are thankful for everyone who participated in surveys, PTA meetings, focus groups, negotiations, staff meetings, Instructional Lead meetings, emails, and public comment. The Board of Education will consider the plan on Tuesday, November 10. If approved, the window for selection will open on Wednesday, November 11.

DEPUTY SUPERINTENDENT TAKES SUPERINTENDENT POSITION IN NEW DISTRICT
We would like to congratulate Deputy Superintendent, Karen Hendricks, for her appointment as the new Superintendent of Schools for the Alta Loma School District in Southern California. Ms. Hendricks served as the PAUSD Interim Superintendent in 2017-18 and transitioned to her current role as Deputy Superintendent for the past three years. We are thankful for her dedication to PAUSD, including forging strong relationships with both associations, leading the district through periods of transition, significant improvements in Title IX, and setting a positive and optimistic tone. She will be missed!
