Collective Bargaining

Two employee unions represent the staff of Palo Alto Unified School District. The Palo Alto Educators Association (PAEA) represents certificated staff, while California School Employees Association Chapter 301 (CSEA) represents classified staff members. Below are the current contracts.

Updates from the Negotiating Table

 

PAUSD and PAEA bargaining teams met on Monday, October 17, 2022 to begin negotiations for 2022-23. Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) articles discussed include the following:

  • Article VI: Compensation & Benefits
  • Article X:  Evaluations
  • Article XI: Leave Provisions
  • Article XIII: Working Conditions

No formal offers were proposed by either side during this session. The next meeting date is scheduled for November 7, 2022.

Contract Language Proposals

The Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) and the Palo Alto Educators Association (PAEA) have been meeting to discuss contract language proposals.

Tentative Agreement Reached on Calendars for Next 3 Years

The Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) and the Palo Alto Educators Association (PAEA) have reached a Tentative Agreement (TA) on school calendars for 2022-23, 2023-24 and 2024-25.

Final adoption of these calendars are pending Board of Education approval and PAEA ratification.
