Reproduction Technician

Reports to: Site Principal

OVERVIEW

Under supervision, perform a variety of routine, repetitive, general-type tasks such as typing and clerical tasks, as well as perform duties involved in production work in the Materials Production Department; related work as required.

QUALIFICATION

High School Diploma or equivalent of education and experience

Minimum of one year of typing and general related experience required.

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
  • Act as receptionist for the department, requiring a warm and friendly manner with students, staff, parents, and the general public
  • Use appropriate telephone and filing techniques
  • Type letters, reports, and other prescribed information on records
  • Proofread typed material
  • Sort, alphabetize, and file material
  • Operate office equipment
  • Perform duties involved in production work done in the Materials Production Department, including, but not limited to, operation of offset press, and various related equipment, such as folding, drilling, binding, and stapling machines
  • Perform clerical work of moderate difficulty without close supervision
  • Type accurately from dictating machine records
  • Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Knowledge of basic elements of good English usage, spelling, arithmetic ;
  • Knowledge of office methods and equipment;
  • Ability to type at a speed of not less than 45 words a minute from clear copy, integrating ability to spell correctly, use good English and make simple arithmetical calculations ;
  • Operate standard office equipment, learn office rules, methods and policies;
  • Follow oral and written directions.

Work is performed in an office environment; the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
