The teacher pool is where PAUSD will collect a pool of applicants for a particular subject matter. It is through these pools that we send out notifications through EDJOIN of confirmed vacancies. A vacancy means a site has confirmed an opening at their site.
At PAUSD, hiring is a collective effort and there may administrators from various sites attending the interview. We may hold interviews without a particular site in mind at the time so we do not present this information on our job postings nor do we disclose this information to potential candidates.
You may apply, but it is rare for the district to sponsor a H-1B visa. It is difficult to obtain the visa and we could only sponsor if we are unable to find qualified candidates who don’t require sponsorship.

If the position in which you are applying for is still open, you may delete your application from the posting, revise your application and reapply. If the position which you are applying for has already closed, you may bring a copy of the document to your interview.

Yes. You may indicate the expected completion date of your program and when you expect to receive your California credential. If you won’t have a Preliminary credential by the start of the school year, you need to be eligible for an intern credential.
Yes. Out-of-state teaching credentials are recognized by the CTC and our credentials analyst can assist you in applying for the appropriate California credential if you are hired. You may refer to the CTC website for credential requirements based on out-of-state credentials or programs. For immediate assistance you can contact a county office of education.
