The Board of Education Hosts Santa Clara Planning Staff at a Special Meeting on November 7, 2017.
The Board of Education has scheduled a Special Meeting on November 7, 2017, starting at 7PM, to be held in the Staff Development Center at the District Office at 25 Churchill Avenue.
For the past 16 years, Stanford has operated under a pair of planning documents approved by Santa Clara County that have provided a framework for their planning. The first is the Stanford Community Plan that established overall rules and policies for Stanford’s land use. The second is the General Use Permit that authorized a first increment of development under the Community Plan, beginning in 2000.
In the next few years, Stanford will complete the academic space and housing authorized by the 2000 General Use Permit. As a result, they are submitting an application to Santa Clara County for an updated permit that would allow the next increment of campus development, expected to cover the period of 2018-2035.
The Santa Clara County Planning Department has now released their Draft Environmental Impact Report. This started a review period, with comments required to be submitted to the County by December 4, 2017.
County Planning staff offered to present one of their workshops on the Draft EIR to the PAUSD Board. The workshop is being presented tonight. Following their presentation, they will respond to questions from the Board and community and will also accept comments
The purpose of this Board meeting is to hear the County Staff presentation and comments from the community and to provide Board direction regarding Board comments. It is anticipated that there will be further discussion next at the regular Board meeting on November 14, 2017.
