A. BP/AR 1312.3 - Uniform Complaint Procedures

B. BP/AR 5145.3 - Nondiscrimination/Harassment

The Board of Education discussed revisions to this policy

Outcome: The Board did not take action on this item. 

C. BP/AR 5145.7 - Sexual Harassment

The Board discussed revisions to this policy

Outcome: The Board did not take action on this item. 

D. Update to PAUSD Organizational Chart

The Superintendent presented to the Board of Education the plan for reorganization of district level leadership roles and reporting

Outcome: This item was for information only. 

E. Addendum to Certificated Personnel Action - Appointment of High School Principal

Staff presented to the Board of Education a recommendation to approve Ms. Kathie Laurence as principal of Gunn High School. 

Outcome: The Board voted 5-0 approving this item. 

F. Budget Amendment 

Staff presented to the Board of Education a recommendation to make the following amendment to the 2017-18 budget:

  1. Increase state revenue by $1,725,000 from the one-time discretionary grant
  2. Restore $267,000 in budget reductions:
    • High School Volunteer Coordinators, 0.20 FTE at each high school ($22,000)
    • $20 per student allocation to the schools ($245,000)

The recommendation for this amendment is possible due to the 2017-18 State Budget, approved by the Governor on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, which includes $877 million in one-time discretionary funding that will be disbursed to school districts in fiscal year 2017-18. This revenue source is about $1,725,000 to PAUSD in 2017-18.

Outcome: The Board did not take action on this item. The High School Volunteer Coordinator positions are restored per a discussion during a previous meeting.
