For the first time, PAUSD brings Future Chef Challenge to the Middle School Level

The Winning Dish, Mediterranean Sliders

Terman Middle School student earned the title of Palo Alto Unified School District's (PAUSD) top chef during the school district's first-ever Sodexo Future Chefs Challenge for the middle school level. Joseph was presented with the Grand Prize after the judges voted for his recipe for Mediterranean Sliders as a the tastiest comfort food dish. Comfort food was this year's theme. Joseph was one of 22 middle school students who participared including 10 from Terman Middle School, six from Jordan Middle School, and six from J.L. Stanford Middle School. Danielle from JLS earned 2nd place with her recipe for orange sherbert and  3rd place went to Zander from Jordan for his Delicious Pizza Tot Muffins. Joseph's recipe now moves on to the regional level of this competition for judging by a team of Sodexo Executive Chefs. The competition, a national event that encourages children to learn good nutrition, is organized by Sodexo, the school district's consultant for student nutrition services. PAUSD has held the competition at the elementary level for several years.
