Elementary School Summer Program & Special Education Extended School Year

Vision

We believe in developing a summer program that equitably supports and challenges students who experience an opportunity gap through an engaging and integrated curriculum that blends academic instruction with enrichment.

Eligibility Criteria

PAUSD eligible students will be identified and invited to participate. An invitation will be sent by mid-March.

Curriculum

The summer school program will not follow the traditional academic intervention model.  Our goal is to provide students with a highly engaging and hands-on curriculum to maintain their skills over the summer and develop a positive attitude towards school. We believe that this can be done through a curriculum that integrates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) using a project-based learning approach for the purpose of developing high engagement levels in students.

The elementary summer school office will close the first day that summer school starts (June13th) and all elementary calls should be directed to the sites.

Special Education Extended School Year (ESY) Program

The ESY Summer School will follow its own preset criteria for participation and registration is by invitation only. If a child has participated in this program in the past, please contact (TBA) or your child's case manager to inquire about this year's ESY program.
