Health Services Coordinator
The Health Services Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and managing the Health Services Department within the district. They collaborate with various stakeholders, develop policies and procedures, provide training, collect and analyze data, and ensure compliance with regulations.
They work closely with both the District Nurse and Health Technician, providing guidance, support, and coordination to ensure that health services are effectively provided throughout the district. They also liaise with external agencies and collaborate with them to align district policies with broader public health initiatives.
District Nurse
The District Nurse serves as a healthcare advocate within the community. They design and implement individualized health plans for students, review health records, assess student health, and provide essential health education and counseling. They also serve as a liaison between healthcare providers, families, and the educational system.
They work closely with the Health Services Coordinator to ensure that health programs and services are effectively implemented. They may also collaborate with the Health Technician, especially in situations requiring specialized healthcare procedures or in emergencies.
Health Technician
The Health Technician plays a vital role in supporting student health services at the school. They administer first aid, dispense medications, screen ill or injured students, and perform specialized health care procedures. They also maintain student health records, attend training, and assist during emergencies.
They closely collaborate with the District Nurse and the Health Services Coordinator to ensure seamless provision of health services. The Health Technician is often the frontline provider of immediate care and may work in tandem with the District Nurse in more complex healthcare situations.
