We believe in providing students with a rigorous and engaging summer program focusing on literacy and science.
Mission
- Access for students: Create opportunities for students with limited access to participate in literacy and science activities.
- High engagement: Provide lessons that activate student participation and discussion. Actively immerse students in the learning process.
- Innovative teaching: Provide summer school teachers with the opportunity to receive professional learning workshops, demonstration lessons, and coaching from staff developers as they deepen their practices regarding reading, writing, and science instruction.
- Challenging curriculum: The summer school program will reflect the PAUSD Board-approved curriculum focusing on early literacy and science.
Eligibility Criteria
PAUSD-eligible students exhibiting reading difficulty identified through the i-Ready Diagnostic Reading results and site team input.
The elementary summer program is by invitation only for rising first through fifth-grade students identified by the district summer school office. Eligible students will receive an invitation to register. Do you still have questions? Please submit your questions through Let's Talk.
